To earn an Alberta High School Diploma, you must have a minimum of 100 credits including the following courses:
Alberta High School Certificate of Achievement
To earn an Alberta Certificate of Achievement, you are in a Knowledge and Employability program and must earn a minimum of 80 credits including the following courses:
Alberta High School Certificate of School Completion
The Certificate of School completion in special education can be awarded to students with significant cognitive delays who meet the qualification criteria. To receive the certificate, a student must be nominated by the principal/assistant principal of his/her school while in the last year of schooling. To earn an Alberta High School Diploma, you must have a minimum of 100 credits including the following courses:
- ELA 30-1 or 30-2
- Social Studies 30-1 or 30-1
- Grade 11 science
- Grade 11 math
- Physical Education 10
- Career and Life Management (CALM)
- 10 credits in any combination from Career and Technology Studies, Fine Arts, Second Languages, Phys. Ed. 20 or 30, RAP, Green Certificate, or Work Experience. *Note: only 15 work experience credits can be counted towards graduation requirements.
- 10 credits at the 30 or 35 level in any combination excluding Social Studies and English Language Arts
Alberta High School Certificate of Achievement
To earn an Alberta Certificate of Achievement, you are in a Knowledge and Employability program and must earn a minimum of 80 credits including the following courses:
- ELA 20-2 or 30-4
- Social Studies 10-2 or 20-4
- Science 14 or 20-4
- Math 10-3, 14 or 20-4
- Physical Education 10
- Career and Life Management (CALM)
- 5 credits in a 30-level Knowledge and Employability occupational course, or 30-level Career and Technology Studies (CTS), or 30-level locally
developed course with an occupational focus - 5 credits in 30-level Knowledge and Employability Workplace Prracticum, or 30-level work expereince, or 30-level green certificate, or 35 registered
apprenticeship program (RAP) course
